Pros and cons of Final Freeway 2R app for iPhone and iPad

Final Freeway 2R app good for

Do you like the Classic OutRun from Sega? Then you must buy this :) Outstanding!
Perfect recreation of Outrun. Brings back childhood memories. Well worth the 79 cents. Keep up the Good work !
All thats missing is Magical Sound Shower, and you can provide that yourself. Great value!
This racer is a clearly influenced by a mix of Segas 1986 Outrun and its 1989 sequel Turbo Outrun arcade racers (only this game has no turbo... perhaps in the third installment?) The engine is smooth as butter, and while the default controls seem awkward at first, it isnt long before you feel right a home in it. If you still feel the need to try different control schemes, this game offers good variations. The goal is to get past all the levels forked checkpoints and to reach one of many finish lines (depending on which route you take - as is the case in Outrun). But you are not racing alone! Your main rival keeps close by in a white Corvette (akin to Turbo Outruns white Porsche). All the while, dealing with A.I drivers who sometimes make reaching the goal challenging. Collisions with any vehicles or driving slightly off the road slows you down. Driving quickly off the road (or an unfortunate nudge from another vehicle) and into one of many side road barriers results in one of Outruns famous wipeouts (complete with car tumbling end over end and its driver and passenger falling to the ground), resulting in lost time. All in all, if youve ever played any Outrun game, or just enjoy some good old fashioned racing with an old school vibe, you owe it to yourself to pick this game up!
Superb polish and presentation. The gameplay is flawless and addicting, however it starts to wear thin and become repetitive. An endless mode or procedurally generated tracks would solve this, in my opinion.
This game is my favourite iOS racer, and Ive tried many. Its everything you need for a quick speed fix. I just love the simplicity, and the feeling of being in an arcade in 95. The controls are tight, the music has a great retro flare, and the visuals are really sharp. Id recommend the steering wheel over the tilt controls. While both work, the wheel allows for quicker and more precise movements. Beyond that the game could use a bit more content - a new car or new areas through future updates. Nothing major but just a little something to keep me interested over time. That being said this game is totally worth the investment, and I highly recommend it.

Some bad moments

I want to give this 5 stars. It is a beautiful game and the frame-rate is there, but where is the gameplay? Where is the deph? Where is the drift? Outrun = drift. It is a game of skill and finesse, of getting your best time and seeing how long you can keep a drift going. Just relaxing and having fun until you mastered it. Give me outrun drift and this gets 5/5 stars. A couple of cars / songs to unlock and it gets a 6/5 Im waiting for these changes or for SEGA to release Outrun2: Coast 2 Coast Also the game should remember my initials. Though I dont suppose it matters much as it will only get a few plays until drift and some gameplay is added.
Keep adding more! Will update to 5 with more content. But super fun. Good controls. Add more enemies.
Dude this game will take you back. Old school pixelated graphics, intense fast gameplay. I dont use the break. You should. Phonecats
Very striking, visually; all those sprites superscaled into your face at 60fps. A great take on the genre, one of the finest Outrun clones, as far as I am concerned, and a wonderful video game. Great job guys.
Wow. The screenshots dont capture the wicked sense of speed in this game. Playing the Outrun soundtrack in game added more to the nostalgia. Maybe Power Drift or Afterburner next?
Awesome, awesome racer. Smooth as butter with great hand-pixelled graphics. Perfect controls.
